OUR PEOPLE - FILIP SZYMONIK - GYM MANAGER AT HOLMES PLACE MARRIOTT, POLAND
Energy filled Filip Szymonik - Gym Manager at Holmes Place Marriott, Poland - will get you energised just by reading about his passions. From marathons to open water swimming, there is no stopping this kind of impulse. Be inspired.
What is your passion and what do you love about it?
For many years my main passion has been to inspire other people to ‘do things’. I have never lacked motivation, and I usually have an excess of it. Therefore, for years my goal has been to forward this motivation to other people. I love to show them, on swimming, running, personal training at the gym or cycling training, how much they can do, how much there is still to be done, not only by them, by me too. I do not have any moments useless moments in my day’s schedule.
How did you begin and what stands-out in your journey?
I began my journey as a trainer only two years ago.
I started with one customer at the pool to currently training with over thrity people.
Currently, I'm the gym Manager at Holmes Place Marriott and leader of Holmes Place Marathon Club, Ice Swimming Holmes Place Club and managing also the Filip Szymonik Open Water Swimming Holmes Place Club.
What distinguishes me is the fact that I have no intention of stopping. If I do not have enough action, after each day starting at 4 a.m. and ending at 9 or 10 p.m., I feel unsatisfied or… sleepy. :)
What are your next goals?
My next and nearest goal is to encourage people to take part in our planned competition (Extreme Baltic Challenge, the Athens Marathon). I also want to increase the attendance in our clubs, recover from my foot injury, swim an 18km race from Gdynia to Hel, break my record of three hours in the marathon, get a score of two hours and ten minutes in the Olympic Triathlon. And a broader goal to live in peace with myself and start a family.
