1 - Set workout appointments
Just like you would with a work event, hospital appointment or dinner with friends, scheduling exercise into your diary means you’re less likely to find an excuse to skip on it. If something else comes up, treat it as you would any other appointment. It’s just as important as a trip to the doctor - both look after your health.
2 - Sneak in physical activity throughout the day
We’re supposed to get at least 30 minutes of exercise every day. There are loads of sneaky ways we can squeeze it in without taking hours out for fitness classes, though. You can cycle to work instead of driving, take the stairs instead of the lift, go for a walk on your lunch break, or get up a tiny bit earlier and do squats, jumping jacks, push-ups or running on the spot for 10 minutes.
